Roof Replacement in Fairview
Most of the roofs we tear off in Fairview have been working a long time. The two-story farmhouses with deep porches often carry two or even three layers of shingles over plank decking, because somewhere along the line a second layer looked cheaper than a tear-off. Code stops at two layers, and after 80 years the boards underneath have earned an inspection anyway.
So a replacement here starts with everything coming off, down to bare deck. We walk every plank, replace what’s soft, and sheath over board gaps too wide for modern shingle nailing. Then the assembly goes back in order: ice and water shield at eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment, new drip edge, and architectural shingles nailed to the manufacturer’s pattern.
Quoted in Writing, Built by Our Crew
The mid-century homes near the school are simple gables, usually finished in a day. Farmhouse roofs with steep pitches and porch tie-ins take longer, and we say so up front. Either way the quote lists materials by name, and the crew is ours, not a number from a labor broker.
Not sure the roof is actually done? Start with a roof inspection and we’ll tell you what’s left in it. Compare shingle lines at asphalt shingle roofing, get the full process on our roof replacement page, and see everything we do in town at Fairview.
